Paisley - free-standing wall

The client had an old wooden fence round the boundary of his large front garden. He was keen to replace this with a stone wall that would enhance the look of his property. They also requested that a low retaining wall be built to replace some brick-work that ran along part of the drive. One of his key requirements was that the stone used should match the sandy coloured bricks of the house.

We choose the shale/sandstone for the Denfind Quarry for its colour match, visual appeal and interesting texture.

The completed wall measures 29m, and runs up and round his fairly steeply sloping garden. Two "cheek-ends" were built and a seat was created at the mid-point of the wall. The low retaining wall was built with the same stone.

Wallers - Jason Hoffman and Richard Love.
