Edinburgh – Devil’s cream stone facing

A fairly simple job for a change – facing old brick walls in the back garden with stone and Devil’s cream (mortar); and removing and rebuilding old dry stone terraces with new stone in the front garden.

In all the job required 9 tonnes of Alston stone, 1 and a bit tonnes of sand, four bags of cement, and one cheapened and dirty-feeling dry stone waller. I promise to atone for my sins and only do dry stone walling in the future (apart from the next job!)
