Fife – turf-topped boundary wall and gate entrance

This job was nearly two years in the making from initial contact to completion.  Hopefully, the wait was worth it!

The specification was to create an interesting entrance way and boundary wall to this property.  The final design went through various iterations, until we finally agreed on the basic design that was built, with some modifications once construction started!  The key theme was curvy!

The turf top was added to give the wall a different look than traditional stone copes. In all five layers of commercial turf were cut to size, and trimmed. The stone came from the Alston Quarry in Cumbria. 24 tonnes were used.
