Carlops - rebuilding free-standing wall

We rebuilt an old drystone wall in the garden of a property in Carlops. The wall was originally drystone but had been patched up over the years with mortar and had extra height added to it with an unsightly section of bricks - the wall was something of a local landmark because of them! There was some bulging of the wall on the lower, garden side, and the structure was in danger of collapse in several places.

We took the 17m of wall down to foundations and rebuilt it - this time minus the bricks. Working in January, the conditions were a wee bit cold and snowy!
