Stenhousemuir - low retaining wall built with steps and shallow curves

The client's have a small garden that was in need of some inspiration. They had seen our work, particularly the low retaining walls built in Ayr and Cumbernauld, and wanted something similar. They would be doing the major landscaping work - laying the slabs in front of the wall and adding stone chips behind - but were keen on a low dry stone wall as the centre-piece of the garden.

The wall that was constructed was given visual interest by the inside and outside curves, the wall running at an angle away from the back wall of the house and the steps of course. And

Finally as well as building the dry stone retaining wall, we repaired the old mortared wall at the back of the garden.
