Project Description

Dry stone bridge

Dry stone bridge

Building a dry stone bridge has been on my bucket list for years.  I was more than pleased to be offered this commission earlier this year.

The bridge arch is 1.6m, 1.5m wide and the bridge in total is 6m long.  I used Alston stone from Cumbria with some piece of Ladycross leftover from a previous job sprinkled in.

A wooden former was used to create the Roman arch and the work took me six weeks to do.

The arch carvings with the date and the initials MW for the clients mother were carved by David F Wilson from Perth.

You can see more examples of garden landscaping works on the projects page.
