Project Description

This was a small job landscaping in Elderslie, Renfrewshire adding dry stone to this garden.  It was a mostly straight-forward job, done in two phases in September and November. There were some weather issues making for type 2 working fun!

The orginal garden

The clients had spent quite a bit of effort on modelling their back garden, particularly the new lawn.  They wanted to have a low dry stone retaining wall to enclose the grass in their garden with some chunky steps.  Then there was a small section of gravel and paving that had been “temporarily” laid – he liked it, she didn’t.  So it had to get a redo too.

The rebuilt dry stone garden

The garden was landscaped using Alston stone to create a low retaining wall with flat cap stones.  Two curved sections of edging were laid to create borders and a path into the shed area and “crazy” paving with gravel was laid.  Finally a chunky set of steps gave access to the lawn.

All materials were supplied by Border Aggregates in Kelso and CED Stone Scotland in North Lanarkshire.
